Donald Eugene Hickman, age 74 of Manassas, VA died at Brookdale at Lake Ridge on March 12, 2018. He was born on July 11, 1943 in South Gate, California, son of Raymond and Betty Nafziger Hickman. Don graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1967. He was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal while in the Air Force Reserve serving the Defense Logistics Agency during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1992. Don retired from the Air Force in 2003 serving 40 years in the military. He also retired from the NRC in 2009 serving 23 years. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his mother, Betty, his wife, Janet and their five children; Wendy Cope, and husband, Charlie, Angie Jones ,and husband, Reid, Robert Hickman and wife, Isis, Joseph Hickman and wife,Amy and Mary Lentz and husband, Mark; his siblings, Gerald Hickman and wife, Margie, Kyle Hickman and Roberta Counsell and husband, Stan. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
