Those left to honor Don’s memory are his wife, Donna of Newton; daughter, Dawna (Donnie) Ringgenberg of Newton; his step-son, Phillip (Robbie) Kurch of Freeport, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Danette Ringgenberg and Marcus Kurth; his mother, Wilma Wheeler of Newton; sister, Patricia (Ray) Gerke of Perry, Iowa; his 1 aunt; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Harold Wheeler of 2005; and his daughter, Danette Wheeler.
Don graduated fron Newton High School in 1957.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 923, Amercian Legion Post 111, and the Eagles No. 109 in Des Moines.
