Mr. Donald A. Callaghan, Jr.
, 49, passed away on Monday October 4, 2010 in the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
Donald was born in Newark and was a life long resident of Kearny. He was employed as a mechanic for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission in Newark. Prior, he was the former owner of Callaghan’s Auto Electric on Davis Avenue in Kearny. He earned the honor of Eagle Scout. He served as an Assistant Cub Master for pack 305 from St. Stephen’s church as well as being a supportive committee member of the troop for many years. He was a member of W.E.A.R.C. the West Essex Amateur Radio Club in Essex Fells.
He is survived by his beloved wife Marcella (Handlin) and his two children Sara and Donald, III. He was the son of Dolores (Maccia) and the late Donald Callaghan, Sr. He was the brother of Catherine Santangelo (James), Debra Taylor (David) and Robert Callaghan (Arlene).
