Don Holbert Lowther, of Clarksburg passed peacefully at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Home, on Monday, May 20, 2013 in his 88th year of life. He was born May 19, 1925; son of the late Pearl and Rosalie Boone Lowther. Don is survived by three children; Ernest Lowther (Cherie) of Clarksburg, Richard Lowther (Joyce) of Fort Ashby, Tammy L. Lowther of Clarksburg; one brother, Reverend Robert Lowther (Lucille) of Elkins; special friend, L Hartley Burgeon ten grandchildren; Missi, Matthew, Doug, Jason, Lori, Lisa, Richard, Jackie, Tina, Steven; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Garry Lowther; one brother, Leon Lowther; two sisters, Geraldine Bee and Betty McCoy. Don served in the United States Navy during WWII in the C-B’s Unit. Upon return from serving our country he was a truck driver for Owen Illinois. He also constructed Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and sold many lots there. He had a strong passion for hunting and fishing.
