Dominic Anthony “Don” Bryla; Lt. Cmdr. USN (Retired), passed away Sunday November 27, 2015. Don was born to Polish immigrants in Plainfield, NJ in 1931. He loved and valued lifelong learning and used his natural talents in creative pursuits of art, dance, athletics and constructions. He met and married Barbara Jean Walker (deceased) while they were dance instructors. He joined the Navy at 17 years old and became a fighter pilot during the Korean conflict, flying the F4U-4D Corsair. To those that knew him beneath his disciplined exterior, he was a compassionate man who was always willing to help those looking for an opportunity to learn and better themselves. As a man of principles, you knew if he respectfully disagreed with you.

He is survived by his second wife, Bea Bryla, and his three sons with Barbara Bryla; Michael Bryla of Ft. Walton Beach, Larry Bryla of Ft. Walton Beach, and Greg Bryla of Orlando, and his three grandchildren; Chandler Bryla, Walker Bryla King and Barclay Bryla.
