Domenica Elizabeth “Sunny” Galyk (Cascarano) peacefully passed-away at Ogden Regional Hospital on May 9, 2019 in Ogden, Utah. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing.
Sunny was born on December 22, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents, Loui and Mary Cascarano. She married Thomas Galyk in 1957. The Galyk’s moved to Utah so that Thomas could pursue work as an Airforce Ammunitions Specialist, while Sunny raised their children.
Sunny was a loving, supportive and selfless mother and grandmother. She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always offered warm hugs, laughter and comfort food to those who visited. Sunny inspired purpose, compassion and kindness in others. Even in times when she couldn’t do so for herself.
Sunny is survived by her children, Christina Toney of Ogden, Utah, Joel and Kathy Galyk (daughter in-law); Michael Galyk of Ogden, Utah; Her brother, Nick Cascarano of Chicago, Illinois; Her sisters Carmella Parma, Mary-Ann Gumuls; her grandchildren, Jeremy and Kristie Ashton(spouse); Dawn and Shawn Peterson (spouse); Kimberly Galyk, Christopher and Amanda Galyk (spouse); Andrew Galyk, Megan Galyk, and Austin Toney; her 8 great-grandchildren; her favorite cat Toby, and the loving mastiffs Maggie and Macey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sr; her brother Loui Cascarano, and her son, Thomas Galyk Jr.
