Dolores Ruth Morse, age 88, of Vandalia, died peacefully Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in her residence.

She was born November 2, 1929, in Vandalia, Michigan, the third of six children of Edward and Alma Haines, Sr.

She married James Harry Morse on April 2, 1949, in Cassopolis, Michigan. After sixty years of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 7, 2009.

Dolores was an archer and enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and cake decorating. She and her husband were campers and regularly went to Pentwater State Park with the same group of friends from around the state. They also traveled to Alaska. Christmas was Dolores’ favorite holiday and it was the one time of year for her to spoil the grandchildren.

Dolores will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Connie (John) Klein, Sr. of Athens, Michigan; one son, Tom (Donna) Morse of Santa Maria, California; five grandchildren, John Klein, Jr., Matthew Smith, Christof Klein, Jody (Justin) Bulifant, Cody James Morse, twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dewayne (Irene) Haines of Monett, Missouri, Ron Haines of Vandalia, Jack (Phyllis Johnson) Haines of Ocala, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Knepple, and one brother, Edward “Bud” Haines, Jr.
