Dolores “Dee” J. King, retired Registered Nurse of Lansing, passed away in Lansing, Michigan, November 22, 2012 of cancer. Dee was born October 17, 1948 in Dowagiac, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth and Lucille (Domer) King of Cassopolis, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dennis W. King of Los Gatos, California.Dee graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1966. She attended Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan and graduated from Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1970 graduating as a Registered Nurse.

Dee worked 27 years at old Lansing General Hospital (Ingham Regional Medical Center) mostly in the Recovery Room. She left in 1997 to work at Lansing and Genesis Surgery Centers, retiring in 2007. Dee loved dogs. She bred and showed English Cocker Spaniels in the 70’s and 80’s, serving one year as chairman of the Heart of Michigan English Cocker Spaniel Club. She was vice chairman of the Friends of Greater Lansing Dog Parks. Dee also was a 25 plus year member of Forest Hills Club (a cooperative campground) in Saranac, Michigan and served for many years on their board of directors.

She enjoyed camping, traveling and training her dogs.Dee is survived by her husband Steven H. Lubin; step-sons Jeffrey Lubin of Howell, Michigan and Adam Lubin (Lauren Pazik) of Fowlerville, Michigan; four grandchildren, Madelynn, Alex, Zoe and Lily; nephew Eric King and sister-in-law Michele Ganey.

She is also survived by two special dog friends, Morgan and Quinn, who were a constant comfort during her illness.
