Julia “Dolores” Parra of Albuquerque, New Mexico gained her angel wings while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

She was met at the gates of heaven by her mother Annie Gutierrez; father Rudy Parra; step-father Santiago Gutierrez; brothers: Santiago “JoJo” Gutierrez; and grandmother Julia Baca, as they were set to celebrate a Christmas that we on earth can only dream of.

Dolores is survived by her daughters: Geraldine Ulibarri, Mona Sanchez and husband Matt Sanchez; siblings: Phyllis Musick, JoAnn Sharp, Loretta Dike, Patsy Parra,  Alan and Diane Parra; grandchildren: Amanda Gurule, Mathew Sanchez, Sierra Sanchez; great-grandchildren: London Ramirez, Rome Ramirez; best friend Cathy Covell, also extended family and countless friends. 

Dolores was born in Gallup, New Mexico on March 3, 1945. She retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 2001 where she made many friends and touched the hearts of all of her co-workers. In retirement, she spent her days playing bingo, watching her favorite television shows, and caring for her mother. She loved to spend time with her family the most. 

Dolores was well known for her positive outlook on life and kind heart. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, constantly putting the needs of others before her own. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. 

Dolores’ Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 9:30am at Queen of Heaven Parish located at 5311 Phoenix Ave NE, 87110.
