Dillwyn S. Stevenson, III “Dooney” a lifelong resident of Beverly passed away in Lourdes Hospital Willingboro on Monday at the age of 76. He was a graduate of Wilbur Watts High School Class of 1953. Dooney was the owner/operator of George S. Stevenson Insurance in Beverly. He was an exempt fireman from Beverly Fire Co. #1 and was a 50yr plus member and Treasurer of the Beverly-Edgewater Park EMS. He also belonged to the Beverly Presbyterian Church, was a Charter Member of the Beverly A.C. and a Director for Monument Cemetery.
He coached Little League and sponsored many local teams and organizations. Dooney and his family enjoyed their home in Surf City, “taking cruises, and vacationing in the Bahamas. He was an avid Phillies fan. He was predeceased by a son Dillwyn “Dooney”,IV. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Bessie (nee:Frazier) and their children: Donna (Steve) Colangelo, George (Kim) Stevenson; grandchildren Dillwyn “Dooney”V, Brittany, Steven, Allison, Duncan, Aidan, his in-laws and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
