Diedra M Thorne, age 65, of Sweetser, IN went into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Parkview Regional Hospital North in Ft. Wayne, IN. Diedra’s greatest joy was caring for her four grandchildren, Dylan, Alexis, Aiden and Brooklyn. Prior to that she had been employed as a Legal Secretary for Kiley, Harker & Certain, Attornies at Law, and Attorney David Payne.
She had formerly worked as office manager for the Grant County YMCA, Grant County Extension Office and RCA.She most recently worked in the accounts payable departmental Indiana Wesleyan University, for 5 years.
She loved her time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.She attended Sunnycrest Baptist Church, Marion, IN. She was a graduate of Marion High School Class of 1967 and received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Ball State University.
She had also attended Marion College, where she met the love of her life and husband Joel.Married for 41 years they were married December 22, 1972 in Marion, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Jack Humes and the late Lela Mae (Lyons) Humes, born September 21, 1948 at Marion, IN.
She is also survived by her husband: Joel, two sons: Matthew J. (Kristina) Thorne, Gas City, IN and Christopher D. (Misty) Thorne. Sweetser. IN:Sister: Valerie (Henry) Lynn, LInn Grove, IN4 Grandchildren:Dylan, Alexis, Aiden and Brooklyn She was preceded in death by twin grandsons: Jacob and Jordan Thorne.
