DiAnne Marguerite (Stevens) Mimitz, age 75, a thirty five year resident of Goshen, died on Tuesday morning at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a period of failing health. She was born on February 3, 1946 in Holyoke and was the daughter of the late Jeannette (Larocque) Stevens and Warren Henry Stevens.
DiAnne was raised in Easthampton and educated at the former Immaculate Conception Parochial School before moving to the Loudville section of Westhampton, completing her education from Williamsburg High School. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years at the former Northampton State Hospital before it’s closing. DiAnne went on to work at local nursing homes as a patient activities coordinator before her retirement.
She loved the country life residing in Plainfield for many years before settling in Goshen. DiAnne loved camping and traveling to the beaches of Maine and truly loved York Beach. She loved bird watching especially the many owls around her home, playing board games, hooking, knitting, crocheting and her beloved dogs, Elsie Jane and Frank.
DiAnne is survived by her loved and devoted family, her husband of forty six years, Robert “Bob” E. Mimitz , three daughters; Annmarie Mimitz and partner Teresa, Donnielle Mimitz, Vickie Donahue and her husband Matt, five cherished grandchildren; Nathaniel, Nicole, Savannah, Rebecka, Richard, three beloved great grandchildren; Eva, Jenna, Hunter, dear friend of many years; Nancy Harding, five brother and sister in laws, one cousin and many nieces and nephews.
