Diana Mae Thurston, of Harvest, Alabama, passed away on January 20, 2021 at home after a long battle with liver cancer. Throughout the years she had a variety of jobs, working as a Bookkeeper for RJ Holden & Co and Couillard Heating Oil,  being the Executive Director of the Vermont Food Bank and the Operations Manager of the VT March of Dimes.   After she retired, she moved to Bradenton, FL and lived there for several years until her diagnosis with cancer.  After being diagnosed with cancer, she moved to Alabama to be closer to her daughter.  She participated in the Walk to Emmaus years ago, and enjoyed being a part of the Agape team. Diana started a prayer shawl/blanket ministry blessing those she knew and didn’t know, that were sick, struggling with grief, or welcoming a new baby.   She passionately crocheted these blankets until  2 weeks before her passing.    She will be remembered for always saying “do not count the days, just make the days count”. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison, Al, and she was also loved and supported by her Pastor Lon Ostrzycki and Bethlehem Baptist Church since her move to Alabama.
