Dewey Markcum, 79, passed away on January 19th 2018 at White River Medical Center. Dewey was born August 28th, 1938 in Maude Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Markcum; his mother, Myrtle Barden; and his brother, J.C Markcum. Dewey is leaving behind his wife of forty-eight years, Janice Markcum; his son, Danny Markcum of Bakersfield California; his son, Michael Markcum of Missouri; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Jessica Markcum of Higden, Arkansas; his daughter, Christina Abraham of Bakersfield California; his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Willie May of Cave Junction, Oregon; and his daughter and son-in-law, Chelsey and Kassidy Grizzle of Drasco, Arkansas. Also surviving him are his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Linda Barden of Greenbrier, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Christine Barden of Wooster, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Nolan and Della Mae Barden of Higden Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Connie Barden Jr. of Higden; and brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Susan Barden of Higden, Arkansas. He’s also left countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to carry on his memory. In his best days, Dewey was a burly man with a love for motorcycles, a passion for the oil fields, and respect for the military. He loved his family with every ounce of his being. He will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
