Denzil Ray Skidmore, Sr., age 86 of Nutter Fort WV, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1930 in Barbour Co., WV; the son of the late Floyd Samuel Skidmore and Delphia (Loar) Skidmore.
Denzil is survived by his daughter, Connie E. Bocco of Nutter Fort, WV; two sons, Richard Skidmore & his wife, Yvonne of Clarksburg, WV and Denzil Skidmore, Jr. of Nutter Fort, WV; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Denzil was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie (Henning) Skidmore, who died on August 23, 1981; three sons, Mark Wayne Skidmore, James Roland Skidmore and Timothy Skidmore; a daughter-in-law, Connie Skidmore; two brothers, Hansel Skidmore and William Skidmore; two sisters, Ruth Bolyard and Goldie Lowther.
Denzil retired from the Water Smith State Park as the assistant supervisor. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Stonewood, WV.
