Dennis Ray Smith, Sr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the age of 47. Dennis was born on April 10, 1960 in Bonham, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1986. Dennis was the Western Region Manager for Allergan and provided outstanding service to Allergan for six years. He is survived by his college sweetheart and wife, Cathy Smith, two remarkable sons, Dennis Ray Smith, Jr. and Robert Smith, and his daughter Sarah Smith, who adored him. Dennis and Cathy and their family have been residents of Boerne, Texas for ten years. Dennis is survived by his parents Reverend Joseph and Paula Smith, brothers Tony Smith and Darrell Smith, and his sister, Glenyss Barnhill. Dennis is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nancy Harris, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.Dennis was an incredibly loving and giving person who never tired of caring for his family and others first. He was honest, full of integrity, and an example of a strong, kind, and fun husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Dennis loved Jesus, his wife and children with all his heart. Dennis’s life-long dream was to be a coach and he enjoyed coaching many Boerne junior league teams, including his sons’ football and basketball teams. Dennis dearly loved the Boerne Greyhounds and was a big fan. Dennis loved to work outside on his many “projects,” was easy to talk to, and was good to everyone who knew or met him. Dennis was a Deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Boerne. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, parents, family and friends, and has left a void in our lives that will not be filled again until we are reunited with him in Heaven.
