Dennis L. Palmer, 81 died peacefully at his home in Mesa, AZ on May 27th, 2015. Dennis was born in Watts, OK on August 17th, 1933. During the height of the Dust Bowl, when he was only nine months old he moved with his parents Myles and Flossie Palmer to Litchfield Park, AZ. His family, along with his younger brother Don moved to Scottsdale when he was in the fifth grade where he attended Loloma Elementary and Scottsdale High School. He was drafted into the US Army in 1953, the same year he married his wife Nancy Hearne Palmer. Upon his Honorable Discharge in 1955 he joined The American Legion Post 44 in Scottsdale. He also went to work with his Uncle Lavern Palmer, and soon thereafter joined the Carpenters Union Local 408. When he retired in 1998 he was employed by Farnsworth Construction in Mesa, AZ. In 1994 he and Nancy bought a second home in Springerville, AZ where they spent their summers and he could be found sitting on his porch swing feeding the blue birds peanuts and pinging old pots and pans with his BB gun. Or you might find him in the company of his great friends at The American Legion Post 30 (where he had transferred his membership), in Springerville, or The VFW Post 8987 in Eager, AZ. Dennis is survived by his wife of 62 years Nancy, his son Dennis Jr (Julie), his daughter Tracy Quick (Steve), four grandchildren, Kyle Edmonds (Allison), Kelly Green (James), Chelsea Palmer and Myles Palmer, as well as one great-grandson, Palmer T. Edmonds.
