Dennis Michael Starr, age 64, of Centralia, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born on May 21, 1951, in Marion County, a son to William and Roseann (Kearney) Starr.
On August 14, 1971, he married Bonnie Jean Cairns and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Dennis is also survived by his son, Michael Starr and wife Hazel of Centralia; two daughters, Mary Beasley and husband Jason of Catawissa, MO, and Missy Mallow and husband Chris of Centralia; four grandchildren, Ethan Mallow, Connor Mallow, Dakota Starr, and Hunter Starr; three brothers, Colin Starr of Centralia, Kevin Starr of Centralia and Tony Starr of Centralia; four sisters, Terri Misenhimer of Henderson, NV, Patti Breeze of Santa Maria, CA, Debra Starr of Centralia and Iris Fetegater of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Kathleen Starr.
Dennis was of the Catholic faith. He worked as an officer at the Centralia Correctional Center for 25 years before retiring. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
