Dennis Floyd passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Searcy. Born March 23, 1951 in Gurdon, Arkansas he was the son of the late Buford Hughes II and Dorothy Floyd Hughes. He was of the Baptist Faith.
During his working years he was a commercial truck driver and also worked for the Heber Springs School District as a bus driver and maintenance department.
“Big D”Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting , wood working, camping and spending time with his family. His family stated that he was known as a gentle giant by many. He loved to tease his friends and family and was a general prankster.
He is survived by his wife Glenda Mae White Floyd whom he married November 25, 1987; one son, Andrew Floyd and wife Courtney of Jonesboro, AR; two step-daughters, Cathy Hughes and husband Buford of Tumbling Shoals, AR and Karen Hargis and husband Jason of Heber Springs, AR; two brothers, Buford Hughes III and wife Cathy of Tumbling Shoals, AR, and Steven Hughes and wife Andrea of Heber Springs, AR; four sisters, Margaret Mchan and husband Floyd and Carolyn Klein and husband Jon both of Tumbling Shoals, Barbara Hughes of Clinton, AR and Sandra Golden of Heber Springs, AR; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, extended family and many, many friends.
