Dennis E. Baumfalk, 73, of Beatrice passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center after a courageous battle with MDS. He was born August 28, 1943 at Beatrice to Henry E. and Irma A. (Hrdlicka) Baumfalk. He graduated from Holmesville High School in 1962. He then served in country in the U.S. Army from 1964- 1970. He married Barbara Jean Yott on July 2, 1965. Dennis worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads as an Engineer Associate for 49 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Beatrice, the Eagles Arie #531 where he was a past president and the Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion, Beatrice. He was a loyal Husker fan, was fond of antique cars, liked traveling and especially enjoyed following his grandchildren in their activities.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Teresa Vanover and husband Scott of Wymore, Ne; son, Mark Baumfalk and wife Angie of Beatrice, NE; 4 grandchildren, Derrick and Taylor Vanover and Laney and Alex Baumfalk ; brothers, Richard Baumfalk, Don Baumfalk and John Baumfalk; sister-in-law, Susan Zimmerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Baumfalk and sister, Celeste Baumfalk; parents-in-law, Tom and Helen Yott.
