Dennis B. Sullivan Jr., 71, of Plymouth, MA, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Spaulding Hospital for Continuing Medical Care Cambridge following a courageous battle with polycystic liver disease. He was the husband of Cynthia “Cindy” (FitzGerald) Sullivan, and the son of the late Dennis B. and Alice Rita (MacDonald) Sullivan Sr. Born on December 7, 1947 in Needham, MA, Dennis graduated from Bentley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and built a fulfilling career as a financial management consultant. With a great love of the ocean, he was active with the Sakonnet Marina community in Portsmouth, RI. Sailing was a real passion for Dennis and Cindy, and they also enjoyed cruising Narragansett Bay on their motor yacht, Miss Fitz. While raising his family in Chelmsford, MA for 35 years, Dennis was very involved with the local community. He took on the responsibility of soccer fields maintenance for the Chelmsford Youth Soccer Association and was a volunteer leader for the construction of playgrounds at nearby schools and parks. Most important to Dennis was his children and he greatly enjoyed participating in their activities, teaching them to sail, golfing together, and taking trips around the country. In addition to his loving wife Cindy of 48 years, Dennis will be deeply missed by his children, Tracy Sullivan of Burlington, MA, Brian Sullivan and wife Kiera of Boston, MA, and David Sullivan of Silver Springs, MD, and his sisters, Alice Royle of Dover, NH, and Karen Hoxie of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was the devoted uncle of Jim, Mike, and Sean Royle, Cheri (Royle) Ruonala, Bob Hoxie, and DeAnn (Hoxie) Stanley. Family and friends of Dennis are invited to share memories during a celebration of his life on Friday, December 6, 2019 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Rye Tavern, 517 Old Sandwich Rd., Plymouth, MA.
