Deloris Houston Jones, age 70, passed away Tuesday evening, January 25, 2022, at Wayne/UNC Healthcare. Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edward John and Sarah Elizabeth Thompson Houston. She was a retired retail manager in the clothing industry.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Larry Ray Sasser; her son, Richard Jones & wife, Karen; her daughter, Sherri Carteret & husband, Andy; her brothers, Terry Houston & wife, Mary Lynn, and Jerry Houston & wife, Connie; her sisters, JoAnn Anders & husband, Steve, and Joyce Hill; her grandchildren, Andrew Jones & wife, Kirsten, Lauren Deckard & husband, Colton, and Erin Champion and husband, Greg; her great grandchildren, Adam Jones, Brooklyn Deckard and “Baby Jones” is on the way.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Glenn Houston and her brother-in-law, Doug Hill.
