Deloris Ann Miller, 80 of Centralia passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born January 19, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana, daughter of Harley J. Smith and Nellie (Smith) Smith.
She married David H. Miller on July 25, 1952 in New Castle, Indiana and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2010. Deloris is survived by four children: Jeffery Miller and wife Harriet of Tracy City, TN, Stephen Miller and wife Margarita of Elgin, IL, Cathy Williams and husband “Butch” of Frostproof, FL, and Rebecca Miller of Centralia; four grandchildren: Brandon Miller, Kaylee Miller, David Miller, and Miranda Spivey; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Alice Smith of Anderson, IN and Sylvia Lucille Robertson of Winter Haven, FL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Jean Lilly, and two brothers: Ronald Smith and Joseph Smith. Deloris was a Registered Nurse from 1972 until she retired in Texas in 1998. She was an avid reader and she was an avid Jeopardy watcher. She was a member and treasurer of the GFWC Centralia’s Woman’s Club. She was very active in her political beliefs and with the U.S. Constitution. Deloris was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
