Delmer Edward Dowda, age 86 of Cahaba Heights passed away on July 1, 2011. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of The Alabama Mineral Lapidary Society. He was a Merchant Marine and in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Nell Dowda; son, Del Dowda; brother, Freeman Dowda; other family member, Edna Carroll.
