Della was born on November 16, 1930 in Delta, Colorado, to Jose Belarmino (Joe) Cordova & Maria Reyes (Grace) Vigil.  She grew up in Delta and married her childhood sweetheart Wilfred Robert Rubalcaba February 2, 1952.  Della and Wilfred later divorced in 1988.

Her joy and happiness could always be found with children.  She spent the majority of her life surrounded by them.  First, caring for her own children and grandchildren and later working many years as a volunteer in Head Start and various elementary schools and then working 15 years for the Foster Grandparent Program.  She is lovingly known as “Grandma” to many adults in the Delta and Olathe area who once attended the classrooms where she worked as a grandma helper.

A Rosary is scheduled for her at St.

The family gives special thanks to the wonderful the staff of Delta County Memorial Hospital and Hope West Hospice for their dedication and the kindness shown to our mother.
