Ft. Lauderdale, Florida-Della Fay Roundtree, 69, passed Monday morning, February 4, 2013 while on vacation from a sudden illness. She was born in New Castle, on July 30, 1943, the daughter of Walter and Leavella (Bilbrey) Downs.
Ms. Roundtree received her GED and eventually graduated from the Ivy Tech nursing program with an associate’s degree and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had worked for many nursing homes in the Muncie area, and retired in 2004 from the former Community Care Center now known as the Renaissance Health Care Center, after having been in the profession for 30 years. Della enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing. Family times with her grandchildren were very precious to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bettie Hughes and one great granddaughter, Chloe Brown.
