Delia (Hamilton) Chervansky passed away peacefully in her home on October 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, former Fairfield Police Captain, Edward Chervansky Sr. and her brother Mitchell Hamilton. Delia was a supportive and caring mother to her children Edward Chervansky Jr., Karen Snyder, and their spouses Audrey and John. She was a wonderful grandmother to Deanna and Eugene DeNeutte, Kristen and Jim Norkus, and Amy Chervansky, and was blessed to have spent time with her young great grandchildren, A.J. and Hunter. She was a generous and loving friend to all she knew. Born on February 2, 1927, she and her brother grew up in the Bronx, New York with their devoted parents. She moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut as a young woman, where she worked at the Virginia Shop and met her beloved husband whom she married in 1958. Together they moved to Fairfield where they raised their family and lived for many years. There, she worked at Fairfield University in the Bursar’s Department for decades where she made many lifelong friends before retiring at the youthful age of 82. Delia loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed hosting weekly Sunday dinners for her family. To her, family meant everything, and she was always a friend and provider to not only her immediate family, but to all of her nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family as well. She loved to take her family on vacations, including cruise ships, lake houses, and most memorably to Disney World. She was always ready to help people whenever she could, and she was a creative, innovative thinker when it came to finding solutions. Delia will forever be remembered and loved by all those dear to her heart.
