Delbert John Benker, 90, passed away March 13, 2015 at Skyline Ridge in Canon City, Colorado. Del was born in Cowles, Nebraska in April 23, 1924, the second son of William and Minnie (Hartman) Benker. His family moved from Nebraska to Julesburg, Colorado where he graduated high school. That next year, he moved to Oregon and worked in the shipyards before joining the US Navy in 1943.
