Delbert C “Buck” Mitter, 75 of Independence, passed away Friday April 8, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 11, 1935 in Preston County, son of the late Raymond B and Mabel C Powell Mitter. Buck worked at a Butcher Shop for several years, and later on a Saw Mills until he retired. He is survived by two sons, Clyde Mitter of Denver Colorado, Donald Mitter and wife Deidra of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter, Mable Shreves and husband David of Tucson Arizona, eight grandchildren, Donald Mitter Jr, Cassie Mitter, Dixie Mitter, Stephan Mitter, Britany Mitter, David Shreves Jr., Jason Shreves and wife Samantha, and Christopher Shreves; Buck’s former wife and friend, Ella L Dillsworth and two special friends, Bob Pyles and Carol Stemple; five step daughters, Donna Gray of Aurora, Georgia Nice of Valley Point, Christie Thomas of Rainelle, WV, Judy Waybright of Newburg and Barbara Dalton of Prunytown; two sisters, Retha Campbell of Eby Road, Grafton, Katherine Karban of Salisbury, MD. In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Delaney Mitter, one sister, Imogene Owens, and one step daughter, Rhonda Pase.
