Debra Phillips Spavone, age 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital with her husband by her side. She was born in Newnan, GA on July 1, 1957 to the late Russell Young Phillips and Joyce Smith Phillips. Debra graduated from Valdosta State University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Science of Nursing. After graduation, Debra enlisted into the Air Force and served as an Air Force Nurse her country from 1979 until 1984 and left with the rank of Captain. After leaving the Air Force, Debra continued her career as a registered nurse. Debra enjoyed spending time with her family and absolutely adored her grandson Albert. She also enjoyed spending time reading and was an all around animal lover. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Debra is survived by her husband, Joseph Spavone; daughter, Sarah Robertson and one grandson Albert Leon Robertson.
