Deborah Lynn Hermann, (Debbie) 55, of Bath, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on Wednesday December 7, 2022 following a courageous fight with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Debbie was born March 4, 1967, in Willoughby, Ohio. She graduated from Mentor High School in 1985 and The University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree Elementary Education and later her master’s degree in Special Education.
Debbie’s love for her children was unconditional. She supported Abby, Sammy and Jacob as a soccer mom, Girl Scout leader, gymnastics mom, choir, and band parent. She was involved in the Revere Youth Soccer Organization, was President of the Revere Music Parents Association, sang in the Bath UCC Choir, and directed the Bath UCC youth choir. Her knowledge and love for music was a gift as she was a wonderful musician, playing piano, clarinet, baritone, and singing. Her most memorable moment with her own children would be helping them audition for band or prepare music for solo and ensemble which always resulted in superior ratings. She also enjoyed teaching her students at Barberton Middle School.
Deb made friends throughout her life starting in high school with marching band, which she carried through college marching band, playing clarinet and baritone. She had a core group of running moms with whom she ran at least 10 Akron Marathon Relays. Her teaching career spanned a time in 4th grade at St Mark’s Lutheran School where she also played piano for the choir. As an intervention specialist, Akron Public City Schools and Barberton City School were her teaching family. She called many people friends at her Church, Bath UCC. She was easy to work with and enjoyed every minute of every day with everyone she came in contact with.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harriet and Walter Baker and Richard and Elizabeth Powell. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Anthony, daughters Abigail & Samantha, son Jacob, her parents Roger and Dottie Powell, sister Becky Rehbeck (Matt), niece Kaitlyn (Kyle) & nephew Luke (Laura), Father in law John Hermann and Mother in Law Priscilla Cunningham (Mike), sister in law Joan Hermann, sister in law Annette Beauregard (Jeff), niece Alexia, nephews Kiefer & Tanner, niece Amanda Pospisil (Karel), aunt Rosemarie Mosher and many other family and friends.
