The family of Deborah (Debbie) Broadway Dudley are saddened by her sudden passing on October 27, 2021 at Novant Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
Debbie was born July 9, 1954 to Jones (Jack) Franklin Broadway Jr. and wife Martha Geraldine (Gerry) Johnson Broadway. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Walter Roger Dudley, sons Ronald Bradley Sigmon (Sharon), Matthew Dale Dudley, and two grandsons Logan and Lucas. Surviving sisters include Marletta (Cherry) Richardson, Marsden Gilbert, and Tammy Buchanan (Billy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister Jacquelyn (Jackie) Correll preceded her in death.
Debbie was a 1972 graduate of West Rowan High School and obtained her LPN degree in 1974 from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Although Debbie’s true passion was nursing, she also found the challenges of extra employment fulfilling. She was a truck driver, realtor, and worked at one time for CVS drugstores. She served as a personal caregiver for Mrs. Elizabeth C. Stanback until her death in 2002. Debbie retired from the VA Medical Center in Salisbury where she served as President of the VA Employees Association. In her earlier years she was a member of Chapter 117 of the Eastern Star, and the Rowan County Clown club. She was a lifetime member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Association.
Debbie was a master in her crafting skills. Her hands were rarely still, leaving her family and friends many hand -crafted mementos to cherish.
