DeAnne Michelle (Johnson) Tonsager, “Anangookwe” which means “Star Woman”, age 54 of Bemidji, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Friday, November 27th, 2020 from Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN.

DeAnne was born on June 22nd, 1966 in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Meryle (Omen) Sayers and Thomas Johnson.  DeAnne was always a daddy’s girl but grew into a strong, beautiful, powerful, thoughtful, big hearted, enthusiastic, optimistic and hardworking mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  DeAnne loved her fur babies Presley, Pixey, Pebbles and Penny.  She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Bruno Mars and Pink.  DeAnne liked going to concerts and shows as often as she could.  She enjoyed watching her favorite football teams, the Broncos and the Vikings and her reality shows.  DeAnne always made sure that everybody else was good before herself, she touched so many lives with her selfless ways.  Her heart was bigger than this world.  She adored her grandchildren and was a big part of raising her grandson Ivan Austin Deleon, who was her world.  A coffee fanatic she was, making it clear “don’t talk to me until I have had my coffee”.

This world lost a very special person, she will be missed by so many.

She is welcomed to the spirit world by her brother, Jerry Johnson; grandma, Pearl Omen; niece, Sheena Rae Roberts; in laws, Miriam “Erma” and Lee Lussier, Sr.; sister in law, Missy Lussier and many more relatives.

Those she leaves behind are her sons, Ira, Lee and Sean Lussier, Sr. all of Red Lake; daughters, Leah and Debra Lussier both of Red Lake; parents, Meryle Sayers of Red Lake and Thomas Johnson of Burnsville; sister, Denise Johnson of Red Lake; seven grandchildren, Derell, Ivan, Ron, Julia, Chanelle, Sean Jr. and Journi; best friend, Bruce Tonsager; soul mate, Lee Lussier, Jr., special sister, Pam Needham, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and too many friends to list.
