Deanna Hansen, 32, of Algona, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her home. Deanna Jean Hansen, the daughter of David and Deborah (Christensen) Hansen, was born on April 5, 1983 in Algona, Iowa.
She graduated from Algona High School in 2001. Deanna attended college classes at Iowa Central Community College. She worked as an EMT and CNA. Deanna was active as a Red Cross Volunteer and Certified Car Seat Technician. Helping people was her passion and she loved being on call and part of the EMT team. Growing up Deanna was very active with the local 4-H club. She enjoyed showing her llama in many competitions. Deanna assisted in leading the llama club as she grew older. She had a special love for adventures with her family and a knack for quoting random movie lines.
Deanna’s quick wit was one of her biggest attributes. She loved spending time with her family, being outdoors, fishing, cooking, and baking. Left to cherish Deanna’s memory is her daughter, Kinley of Algona; parents, David and Deborah of Algona; sister Dellisa (Jake) Geisler of Ames; brother Dean Hansen of Ames; grandmother Barbara Jean Hansen of Ruthven; niece Ella; nephews Will & Carsten and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Leo & Ellabeth Christensen and Irvin G. Hansen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kinley Hansen Education Fund at Iowa State Bank located in Algona or Ruthven.
