Dean E. Gordon, age 87, of Salem, died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1927 in Salem, Ohio, son of the late John Paul and Ethel (McNeelan) Gordon. Dean was a 1946 graduate of Salem High School and retired in 1982 from the Salem Post Office where he worked for 35 years. He had also worked at Stadium and Parker Chevrolet as a driver. He was very active in the Blood Bank, he donated over 20 gallons of blood. He was a member and volunteer with the Historical Society of Salem. He was a member of the Salem First United Methodist Church and a member of U.C.T. 590 for 50 years. Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dixie L. (Hall) Gordon, whom he married March 17, 1951 at the church in Salem; son, Mark T. Gordon of Rogers; daughter, Denise (Lenn) Scheibal of St. Louis, Missouri; and several cousins in Maryland.
