Dean Earl Hughes, 83, of Kingwood, WV, died on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Dean was born April 30, 1933, in Johnstown, PA, a son of the late Richard Owen and Florence Pearl (Sell) Hughes.
He attended Waynesburg College and Wesley Seminary. Dean was a Methodist Minister and he was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Kingwood. He belonged to the Waynesburg Lodge 153 F. & A.M. and the Shrine Temple in Pittsburgh, PA.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Katherine Jean (Thomas) Hughes; two daughters and spouse, Charlene and Tom Strahin of Kingwood, Cindy Klara of Elkridge, MD; two brothers, Lloyd Hughes and Richard Hughes, both of Johnstown, PA; two grandchildren, Jason Moore, Jennifer Pleitez; three great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jordan and Joel Pleitez.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rupert, Calvin and George Hughes; one sister, Ardythe Ann Williams.
