Davy Scott passed from this life on August 30, 2018, at the age of 25. Born October 1, 1992, Davy graduated from Woodward Academy and attended Samford University and the University of West Georgia where he was a founding member of its Sigma Chi chapter. Davy loved life and the company of his family and many friends. Davy loved all things sports: playing softball, basketball, exceeding his personal bests in the gym or cheering on his beloved Woodward War Eagles, Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and spending time in the water, boating, fishing, rafting, or swimming. And he loved his mother’s cooking.
In the last year of his life, Davy excelled at mentoring young men with addiction at the Bridges of Hope and Agape Recovery. Davy frequently served as a featured speaker at AA meetings around the Atlanta area. He was strong with his faith in God and prayed daily. Words fail us when we try to express the measure of our love for Davy, and sorrow from his loss. Davy is survived by his parents, Melissa and Chris Scott of Newnan; sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Brian Robinson of Kennesaw and their son, Davy’s nephew, Asa Kovera Robinson; brother, Payton Scott of Newnan; and grandparents, Sigrid and Jim Scott, formerly of Carrollton, now Newnan.
