David Wayne Adams, also known as “Dillon” throughout the community by friends and family, transitioned from this earthly dwelling into eternity on November 9, 2018. He fought a good fight and was surrounded by family and friends throughout this journey.David Wayne Adams was born on October 2, 1943 to the late Sidney and Eula Mae Booty Adams, in Beckville, Texas.He attended Beckville schools and graduated from Sunset High School. He united with Bethel CME Church at an early age.He joined in holy matrimony to Jennie Ann Gladney Adams on June 22, 1970. Three children were born to this union; Carmen Jackson (Bertram) and twin boys Da Wayne and De Wayne Adams who preceded him in death in infancy. He shared a special bond with his two grandsons Bryson and Braylen Jackson, who affectionately referred to him as “Paw Paw”. He enjoyed singing, dancing, fishing, story-telling and relaxing on his front porch. He was a very giving and humble man, always ready to help family and friends. David was an honored member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was an employee at the Stemco Manufacturing Company in Longview, Texas for 23 years where he proudly climbed to the rank of supervisor.
