David W. Porter, 82, of McCordsville, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at his home. He was born March 17, 1930 in Muncie to the late Charles F. and Nellie Porter. He served as a radio operator in the 101st Army Airborne and guarded the Berlin Wall, later retiring from Naval Avionics in 1993 after 28 years of service.
David enjoyed square dancing, traveling with his wife and granddaughter and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Roberta J. Porter, whom he married on December 19, 1981 in Indianapolis; sons Steven Porter and David Charles Porter; stepdaughters Cynthia Pelt and Barbara Dishman; stepsons Dallas Dishman and Robert Grubbs; granddaughter Tiffany Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Sue Marcum; brothers John, Allan, and George; and sister Cecile.
