David W. Eck, age 73, of Kingston, formerly of Norwood, passed away on Friday, December 6th, at the BID Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband and best friend of 43 years to Lois (Blundell) Eck. Father of Barry Eck and family of Norton, Laureen Farber and her husband Dan of Vail CO, Brian Eck and his wife Brittney of Plymouth, and Stephanie Eck of St. Petersburg FL. David was the loving grandfather of Brooks and Charlotte Eck of Plymouth, and brother of William Eck, Jr., and the late Cindy Bevivino and her husband Charlie. Born in Norwood on September 29, 1946, son of Constance (Spurling) Eck and the late William T. Eck. He was a graduate of Norwood High School, class of 1964, where he was a standout in football, basketball, and baseball, earning him a scholarship at Northeastern University. After his classroom years, David developed many successful businesses with his unmatched work ethic. He was a huge sports enthusiast, always attending his children’s sporting events, and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved sailing, having taken numerous trips to St Thomas, Newport RI, and Florida with Lois to spend time on the water. He also had a love for antique cars and trucks. Dave was one of a kind and you always knew when he was in a room. It was Dave’s way.
