David T. “Zeke” Zaludek, 52, of Chicora Fenelton Road, Fenelton, died at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Butler Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer with which he demonstrated a tremendous will to live.

David was born on May 29, 1957, in Butler. He was the son of the late Charles and Nellie Schnitzki Zaludek. He was a long time active member of the Happy Hunters Club of Fenelton where he participated in both the horse shoe and pool leagues. He was also an active member of the East Butler Firemen’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the company of his beloved dog, Maggie.

He was a 1975 graduate of Butler High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

David is survived by his wife, Bonnie Barnhart Zaludek, whom he married at St. John Reformed Church in Chicora on September 6, 1986. He is also survived by two sons, Charles T. Zaludek and Michael J. Zaludek, and a daughter Julia Zaludek, all of Fenelton. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Zaludek and his wife Judy of Butler, and three sisters, Carol Willison and her husband Dale of Meridian, Nancy Huff and her husband Ken, and Joan Waterbec and her husband John, all of Highfield. A sister-in-law survives, Judy Zaludek, also of Highfield. He is survived by his father-in-law, Tom Barnhart of Fenelton, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Barnhart and his companion, Debbie Bauer of Fenelton. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother Charles “Butch” Zaludek, who died December 5, 2008, and his mother-in-law, Helen Barnhart.
