David Richard Hall, 84, of Colonial Heights passed away on Thursday March 28, 2024. Born June 18,1939, in Louisa, VA, he was the son of the late Charlie Richard and Mae Compton Hall and was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Bowling Hall; his son Edward Richard Hall; His brother Alvin “Hunka” Hall; his sister Irma Cross; his brother-in-law’s, David Bowling and Wally Waldron; and two nephews Scott Cross and Jason Bell. David went to Petersburg High School. In 1959 he went to work at the A&P grocery store. In 1962 he went to work for AlliedSignal. He retired from Honeywell as a chemical engineer in the Tech Lab in 2000. David had a great love for his family and showed it by being an amazing provider. David loved being a Boy Scout and even continued on as a troop leader long after he retired. He was never too busy to teach someone how to tie a knot. He loved the outside, camping and hunting but he really loved to be on the water. His favorite pass time was fishing. We are very grateful to have had him in in our lives. He is survived by his daughter, Kimmy Barker (Rob): his brother Melvin Hall, two sister-in-law’s Monica Bowling, Rebecca Bowling; his brother-in-law Jay Bowling (Donna); three grandsons, Jason Richard Hall (Ashley), Josh Hall (Kim), Adam Barker; five great grandsons, Greyson, Drake Richard Hall, Carter, Landon and Tanner; One great granddaughter Kennedy; nieces and nephews, David, Kathy, Warren, Leah, Betsy Rene, Chip, Kenny, and Becky; many great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and loved ones.
