David Taylor (Ray) was born on July 21, 1939 in Spanish Fort, Mississippi to the parents of Wesley Taylor and Martha Bell Taylor, who proceeds him by death.

David received his education in Mississippi at Montgomery High School.  David left Mississippi and relocated to Indianapolis where he worked for Ray’s Trash Company.  There he met his long time partner Shirley Taylor, whom proceeds him by death, and they raised a big family together.

David was an awesome man.  He loved being around his family and there was nothing that he would not do for them.  He was known for his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.  David was a very giving person who was smart, funny, loving and generous.  He loved to dance and when his favorite song came on he would say ‘ I love you like a fat baby loves cake’.  David was a very  special man and was loved deeply by his family.

David departed his earthly life on April 7, 2019 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by, his children, Elisa Taylor and Redia Taylor; and siblings, Ernest Taylor, Mary Dell Taylor Hampton, Wesley Taylor, Sarah B. Taylor Wheeler, Ruthie M. Taylor, Edna E. Taylor Stewart, Wallace Taylor and Alice P. Taylor.

  David is survived by his children Melissa Lewis, Julie Taylor, Daisey Taylor, David Lewis, Shelia Taylor, Raymond Lewis (Theresa), Johnnie Taylor (Shenicka), Teresa Taylor, David Taylor (Joanne), Sharian Taylor (Willie), Ranada Williams Edmonds (Terrence)  His siblings Almeda Taylor Lloyd, Albert W. Taylor, Eva Jean Taylor Leonard, Lesure Leonard , Essie L. Taylor Wells, Edger E. Taylor (Talicia), Annie May Taylor Woodard, Linda D. Taylor Stuckey and Betty Jean Taylor; other brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
