David Ray Roessler

     David Ray Roessler, 91, of Gooding, was called home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013.  He was surrounded by family and friends at the Veteran’s Hospital in Boise at the time of his passing.

     Ray was born June 17, 1921 in Shoshone, Idaho to Jacob and Barbara Roessler where he was raised and educated.  At age 18 he joined the United States Army at Fort Douglas, Utah.

     Ray was an avid fisherman, and loved to hunt, 4-wheel and camp with his family and friends.  He spent many hours on Idaho’s lakes and rivers catching fish and taught others to love the sport.

     Ray is survived by: his wife of 37 years, Cory M. Roessler of Graham, Washington; son, Gregory Roessler and wife, Cheryl of Twin Falls, Idaho; son, Michael Roessler and wife, Heather of Nampa, Idaho; son, Jerome Roessler and wife, Debi of Kuna, Idaho; daughter, Ellen (Roessler) Nielsen and husband, Jeff of Nampa, Idaho; son, Paul Roessler of Washington; and daughter, Linda (Mizer) Adams and husband, Jim of Graham, Washington.  Ray has 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

     He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jacob and Barbara (Williams) Roessler; sister, Ethel (Roessler) Martin; sister, Irene (Roessler) Schwager; brother, John “Ernie” Roessler; brother, George Roessler; son, David Ray Roessler, Jr. and wife, Rose (Gordon) Roessler; and great-granddaughter, Hallie Ann Roessler.

     Ray will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.  He will be remembered for his giving heart, desire to help others, and love for life.  Idaho fish will now no longer fear for their lives.
