David Paul Miner, 64, of 3595 Game Reserve Road, Chatham, VA died peacefully at his home Saturday, June 04, 2011. Born July 16, 1946 in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late Walter N. Miner and the late Betty Kaiser Miner Witt. He was an honorary member of the American Legion Dan River Post 325 and was an avid NASCAR fan who favored Richard Petty and the Burton brothers. He was vice-president and general manager of Jarrett Welding since 1977. He was of the Baptist faith. On February 2, 2000, he was married to April Starr Bean Miner, who survives of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Miner Stallings of Danville; a step-daughter, Amy Mae Everett of Mesa, AZ; a step-son, John Paul Martin of Gretna; a sister, Mary Ellen Sword of Christiansburg, and a brother, “Bobby†Witt of Gray, TN. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Summer Stallings, a grandson, Kenneth Paul Strader (“PJâ€), nine step-grandchildren, Hailey, Dylan, Logan Sarah and Quentin Martin; Daisy and Dixie Hancock; and Daz and Hayden Everett, and one great-grandchild, Melony Starr Hancock, a special friend, Enrique (Santiago) and his best friend, Rex. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miner was predeceased by grandparents, Grand Pap and Grandma Dillow, Pearl King, Grandma Ding.
