David M. Znaniecki, 66, of Peru passed away unexpectedly at 12:10 PM in his home on June 1, 2016.
Dave was born in Peru on January 4, 1950 to Henry and Elizabeth (Kotecki) Znaniecki. He served with the US Navy from 1967-1969. He married Christine Schrowang on June 7, 1974. Dave worked at National Sheet Metal in Peru, as grounds keeper at Spring Creek Golf Course, and then retired as a security guard at the Illinois Veteran’s Home at La Salle. He was an avid bowler. Dave enjoyed telling stories and jokes. There were no strangers in his life. He was a member of the Peru Sportsman Club in Peru and former member of the Peru Rescue Station.
Dave is survived by his wife Christine of Peru; one daughter Jessica (Jason) Heitz of Oglesby; three grandchildren Rayna, Jalen, and Kaden Baker; one sister Ruth Guynn of Peru; one brother James Znaniecki of La Salle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
