David Lynn Bryan

David passed away in the home of his family quietly and peacefully on July 11th. He was surrounded by some of his favorite things, listening to some of his favorite music, morning sunlight on his face and holding his cousin’s hand.  For a man that had cared for others for the biggest part of his life, David’s last days were filled with love and peace just as he deserved.

David Bryan, LPN, age 79 of Summit Park passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 in Bridgeport, WV.  David was born on December 1, 1942, in Clarksburg, WV to Frank and Ercel (Norman) Bryan.

David was preceded in death by his parents and also his nephew, Scott H. Pokrass.

Although David had no children of his own, he leaves behind his two sisters, Tauni J. Bryan/ Houston, Texas and Sandra ( Susi ) Bryan Pokrass/ Rancho Viejo, Tx,  one brother, Fred Bryan/Clarksburg, WV, multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved very much.

David was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse that served his community for over 50 years. While working in the Emergency Room at United Hospital Center, David also was a mentor and friend to many new nurses. Many of those nurses remained his lifelong friends. David loved caring for others and continued to do this even after he retired from nursing. He volunteered at the hospital through the Auxiliary program and continued to have a smile for everyone he had contact with.

David had a vast array of interests from the southwestern art he had adorning his home to loving all things Barbara Streisand and Thomas Kinkade as he was an avid collector.

David loved all kinds of music and dancing. He was quite the dance partner and loved to do the jitterbug on nights out on the town with his friends.

David was a devoted catholic and his faith was very important to him. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarksburg, WV.
