David L. Jones Sr., 73, of Anderson, passed away on March 18, 2021, at Community Hospital Anderson. He was born March 16, 1948, in Muncie.
Dave graduated from Anderson High School in 1967. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971. Dave enjoyed working as a groundskeeper on the grounds of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Most recently, he retired from Wal-Mart in Anderson. He enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time outdoors, making his own barbecue sauce, singing, old car shows, and taking immaculate care of his lawn. Dave’s favorite teams were the Steelers and the Yankees.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Cissy Jones; his children, David Jones Jr., Anderson, Sheaneta (Kevin) Rowe, Pinson, Alabama, Nathan (Amy) Jones, Anderson, and Aletha Rodewald, Indianapolis; his stepdaughters, Alyssa (William) McMillen, Alexandria, and Shelby Jones, Anderson; his grandchildren, Arianna Muniz, Ciera Rowe, and Regan Rowe; as well as many other grandchildren; his special great-grandchildren, Camden Muniz and Embry Stephens, and several other great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Peggy Coryn; his father-in-law, David (Jan) Young; and a special young lady, Bri Rentfrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Jones and Hattie Inez Jones; and his granddaughter, Alexis Jones.
