David L. Hennis, 71, of Ingalls, passed away, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home. He was born October 30, 1944 in Anderson, IN to the late Charles and Alberta (Riddle) Hennis. David was a 1962 graduate of the old Maxwell High School, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Fortville American Legion Post 391 and the UAW Local 662.
He retired from Delco-Remy in Anderson after 30 years service. David is survived by wife Carolyn (Shepherd) Hennis whom he married February 18, 1967; daughter Sherry Hennis of Ingalls; grandchildren: Brooke Allgood, Brandon Allgood, Chelsea Hennis and Haley Williams-Wheat; sisters: Linda (Bill) Cloud and Teresa (Gene) Tuck both of Anderson; daughter-in-law Jolinda Hennis of Lapel and special friend and caregiver Billy Hobbs. He was preceded in death by son David Hennis, Jr. and brother Lester Hennis.
