David Kemp Boggess of Waldron Arkansas passed from this life Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Mena, Arkansas. David was born Saturday, July 9, 1932 in Dunbar, West Virginia to Jennings Holbert Boggess and Floris Launa (Pickens) Boggess. David was 83 years, 2 months and 3 days old.
As a young man, David proudly served a term in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, David owned and operated a 10 chair Barber Shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David and Sue moved to Cherry Hill where David had a barber shop and then had a poultry farm. They then relocated to Waldron, Arkansas where David was a 30 year plus farmer. He enjoyed fishing when he had a chance to go. His true love was that for his family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed precious time with them making forever memories.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Thomas David Boggess of Waldron, Arkansas. Papa will forever remain in the hearts of his three grandchildren: Hannah Jolene Jeffries, Jonathan Kemp Boggess, and Kole Joshua Boggess all of Waldron, Arkansas. David is also survived by three sisters: Drema Drager of Mena, Arkansas, Clara Hayes of Roland, Oklahoma, and Vada Eager of Mena, Arkansas and Ethel Stidman of Arizona. David will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including an extended family of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda (Sue) Boggess, his parents, Jennings Holbert Boggess and Floris (Pickens) Boggess as well as two sisters: Naomi R. Durrence and Mary L. Boggess and one brother, Jennings Boggess Jr.
